Makakatana Bay Lodge St Lucia Wetlands Park
Makakatana Bay Lodge is an exclusive bush lodge situated on the banks of the greater St Lucia wetland park, recently declared a world heritage site.

It is the only privately owned Lodge on the banks of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, which is Africa's largest natural estuary, having a water expanse of approximately 300km2. The Lodge is surrounded by the reserve which is 82,000 hectares and includes golden uninhabited beaches, flanked by some of the highest vegetated dune forests in the world.

This exclusive Lodge comprises of 5 Luxury suites all connected by wooden walkways, two suites have views of the Lake and three are within the indigenous forest, each having dressing rooms, outdoor showers, bar fridge, tea/coffee tray, private telephone and air-conditioning. A private bush Pool on the lakes edge, outdoor Boma for evening dining, Craft shop and a Wine cellar in the 'old crab house' complete the facilities offered.
Snorkelling and safaris

Activities enjoyed by guests are private mokoro canoe safaris, boat trips, morning and night game drives, beach safaris and snorkelling with picnic lunch at Cape Vidal . Animals that can be sees are 367 bird species, hippo, crocodile, antelope, leopard, zebra, elephant, buffalo; and rhino. In season view humpbacked whales & dolphins.
